When you go,
if you go,
and should I want to die,
there's notihing i'd saved by
more than the time
you fell asleep in my arms
in a trust gentle,
I let hhe darkening room
drink up the evening,till
rest,or the rain
lightly roused you awake.
I asked if you heard the rain in your dream,
and half-dreaming still you in your dream,
and half-dreaming stiull you only said,
I LOVE YOU.
Traduction: Lorsque vous me quitterez, si vous me quittez, et que je voudrai mourrir rien ne saura me secourir mieux que ce moment ou vous étiez tombée endormie entre mes bras;dans un abandon si doux. Je laissai s'assombrir la chambre qui m'abreuvait de la soirée,jusqu'à ce que le repos,ou la nuit naissante vous ait doucement éveillée. Vous demandant si vous aviez perçu cette pluie dans vos songes toujours sommolente vous aviez simplement murmuré: JE VOUS AIME.
